North of Ireland

The North of Ireland is a great cycling region with ever changing and stunning scenery, a long and interesting history, two award winning cities in Belfast and Londonderry (Derry) and people who just love to see visitors from the rest of the world.

The area is awash with history from Neolithic to the very contemporary, all leaving their imprint on the beautiful landscape and its welcoming people. Stories and legends abound, quiet rural scenes mingle with world class scenery and attractions, all of which are accessible, and even best seen, by bicycle. Our tours focus on the spectacular Causeway Coast in County Antrim, with the Giant's Causeway amongst its many outstanding attractions, and the Kingdom of Down famed for its picturesque villages, its deep link with St Patrick, its unspoilt Mourne Mountain range, and the natural beauty of Strangford Lough. Award-winning Belfast, with its magnificent Titanic Experience, has a wealth of attractions to offer and features in all our tours as a start or finishing point.

The North of Ireland’s unique scenery has proved extremely popular with film production companies in recent years, with much of the huge TV series Game of Thrones filmed on location throughout the North of Ireland.  At least 10 of these stunning locations feature on our self-guided and Guided tour options. The reason the film companies choose this location was that they were able to film in so many memorable locations in a relatively small area.
